They say Bell Island is sinking. Don’t panic, it’s only about 1mm a year or something.
With this photo it’s not hard to see why though. Layers upon layers of sand, silt and stone are easily visible here, slowly eroding away.
I love the colors of those layers in this photo. Surprisingly, when originally processing all my photos from this day, this was one that was slated for the junk bin. It wasn’t until a few months later while searching for another photo from the same day that this one really struck me.
