I’ve had the pleasure of being involved with the Mt. Pearl Junior Blades Hockey Club this season. I’ve designed and currently maintain their website and also have been doing their pictures since about midway through last season. It’s a fantastic group of guys on this team and they’re great to watch.

This game in particular had a lot on the line. The Blades and Caps had met in the finals of last season’s city league championships with the Blades tying the game with less then a few seconds left and then winning it all in sudden death overtime. This season they played the opener with the Blades proving the better of the two clubs once again, despite having lost several key players in the off season. This was the last meeting of the year until this game where the Caps were first in the stands with the Blades in second, trailing by several points (but with games at hand). As you can tell by now, there was a lot on the line.

The Blades went down early in the first 3-0 and rallied back to win 5-3. You can read the full recap at the Blades website.
